Grandma, Granny, Nana, or Nanny?

My son and his girlfriend just announced to us that they are expecting a baby boy the end of February, 2017.  That makes me one excited grandma, granny, nana or nanny to be!

  2. Congratulations Lori, and to the happy parents to be. How exciting for the whole family. Prayers going out for a healthy pregnancy, and wonderful new baby to love in 2017.

  3. Congratulations! If you haven’t made up your mind about which you want to be called, you might want to consider this. I went with ‘grandma’ because I was delighted to have finally reached that phase. ‘Granny’ isn’t much different, but it sounds older. My sister went with ‘Nana’ because she said it sounded younger. ‘Nanny’ sounds like the hired help. I have only one grandchild, but I’m one of his 6 grandmothers because of blended families!
